HOUSING
Antonelli Institute contracts with local apartment complexes for student housing. Most units are within a short drive of the campus. Some have public transportation available to the campus, if needed.

Students interested in school-sponsored housing should contact the Office of Student Services upon acceptance. Students in school-sponsored housing will need to make a two semester (fall and spring) commitment.

Local residents occasionally rent small apartments or rooms in their homes to students. The Office of Student Services can assist in locating these housing sources.

COMMUTING STUDENTS
Commuting students are encouraged to participate in all functions at Antonelli Institute. Lockers are available for the storage of personal belongings. Students who wish to work on assignments may use open studios and lab areas.

SCHOOL STORE
Supplies, academic texts and other materials that may be required or desired for use in completing program assignments and personal use can be obtained in the school store. Located in the student lounge area of the atrium level, the store is open daily.

LOCKERS
Lockers are available for student use. Students must use school locks. There is no charge for this service. The Institute reserves the right to open and inspect any locker at any time. The Institute is not responsible for any loss of personal items, equipment or supplies contained in the locker.

PLACEMENT
Placement assistance is available to graduates in good standing. This service continually seeks new employers and new employment opportunities to bring together employers and graduates. The Placement Office provides graduating students with job seeking information including extensive lists of potential employers in the visual arts. The Placement Office will regularly follow-up with each graduate to assist them with their job search and provide job leads from prospective employers. Antonelli Institute assists students in gaining employment, but does not guarantee employment upon graduation.

Enrolled students may contact the Placement Office to obtain information about part-time employment and freelance work. The Placement Office should be contacted if a student is interested in applying for Work-Study positions.

STUDENT COMPETITION
Competitions among students of the Institute, within a class or among several classes, are held each academic year. Judging is often done by independent professionals in the visual arts. Students are strongly urged to become student members of professional associations in their respective field of study. Antonelli students regularly compete with other schools in competitions sponsored by these associations.

ALPHA BETA KAPPA HONOR SOCIETY
Antonelli Institute believes in the recognition of outstanding accomplishments by its students. Toward that end, a chapter of Alpha Beta Kappa, The National Honor Society, has been established. Qualifications for membership include excellence in the classroom, leadership and service in class and school activities and personal integrity and good moral character. Nominations to and selection for membership requires faculty approval. Membership is at no cost to the student. Presentation of membership is made at graduation.

STUDENT ADVISEMENT
Antonelli Institute has established an advisor/advisee system that is genuinely interested in helping students with any situation they may encounter while enrolled at Antonelli Institute.

Students are assigned to a faculty member to contact in the event of an academic problem. Additionally, students may contact the Director of Education, Director of Student Services or the school President. Students who are having difficulty should arrange to meet with their instructor(s) as a first step in the advisor/advisee process. If the problem persists, the student should arrange to meet with another advisor.

Non-academic advising is given serious attention. If a student should find that class work is suffering because of personal or financial problems, instructors stand ready to provide assistance along with the entire administrative staff and School President.

STUDENT COMPLAINT/GRIEVANCE
Students who have a complaint should contact the Director of Student Services to complete a complaint form. All complaints should be in writing and signed. The School President will review the complaint and attempt to resolve the matter. If a student does not feel the school has adequately handled the complaint or concern, the student may consider contacting the State Board of Private Licensed Schools, PA Department of Education, 333 Market Street, Harrisburg, PA 17126-0333 or the school’s accrediting commission. All complaints to the Accrediting Commission must be in written form (available from the Student Services Office), with permission from the complainant, for the Commission to forward a copy of the complaint to the school for a response. The complainant will be kept informed as to the status of the complaint as well as the final resolution by the Commission. Please direct all inquiries to: Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology, 2101 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 302, Arlington, VA 22201, (703) 247-4212.
